Xbox series X stock – live: Who could restock the console next this week? – The Independent

We’re predicting Xbox restocks this week

(The Indepenent)

The Xbox series X has been with us for over a year now. And in that time Microsoft’s next-generation console has been breaking sales records all over the place. Yet, despite its apparent success the Xbox series X is still almost impossible to find in stock anywhere in the UK, both in-store and online.

Bottlenecks in the manufacturing process as a result of a worldwide supply chain crisis and semiconductor shortage have slowed the production of Microsoft’s next-generation console to a near-standstill, leaving shoppers in the UK wondering where to buy an Xbox.

The smaller, less powerful and much cheaper Xbox series S is easier to find in stock, but the more advanced Xbox series X sells out within minutes of hitting the shelves. Knowing when and where the newest Xbox will be restocked next is key to grabbing one before they sell out again.

That’s why we launched our Xbox stock alerts liveblog. If you’re wondering where to buy an Xbox series X in the UK today, we’re here to help. Below, we’ll update you with the latest live restock updates as soon as they happen, as well as any news on predicted restock dates, new games and accessories and milestone events.

How to buy an Xbox series X online

(The Independent)

While we wait for the next Xbox restock, let’s go over some things you can do right now to be ready for when the next consoles arrive:

  • Register an account at each of the retailers that stock the Xbox series X. They’re listed in the main article above.
  • Ensure your correct payment details are saved in your browser on desktop, or on Google Pay or Apple Pay on your phone.
  • Are you a BT customer, or know somebody who is? Register your interest on the BT site to get exclusive access to BT’s next drop.
  • Sign up for a 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, in case the retailer makes its next Xbox drop a Prime-exclusive.
  • Download each retailer’s app (if they have one) and add the Xbox series X to your wish list or “save for later” list.
  • When the console drops, use the link in your wish list to add the Xbox to your trolley or basket – this usually has a higher success rate than navigating through the website.
  • Keep note of the prices of bundles to ensure you’re getting a good deal. Rounding up, the console itself is £450, controllers are £50, the official headset is £90, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs £11 per month. Newly released game are £60, but retailers usually bundle older games with the console.
  • The pay-as-you-go Xbox All Access programme is good value for money, so long as you don’t already have a Game Pass subscription.

Don’t buy a console on social media, these are always scams.

You can play Xbox games on your laptop

You don’t actually need an Xbox series X to play Xbox series X games, just a fast enough internet connection and a compatible streaming device.

Xbox Cloud Gaming streams games from Microsoft’s servers to your console, laptop or phone, via your internet browser or the Xbox app. How does cloud gaming work? Well it’s basically like being on a Zoom call with a game that you’re controlling, meaning you can jump into new games at the push of a button rather than waiting around for an installation.

Cloud gaming requires a membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (£32.99, Argos.co.uk), which unlocks on-demand access to more than 100 games. Thankfully, decent laptops are much easier to find than the Xbox series X. If you’re thinking of upgrading, check out our list of the best laptops in 2021.

Is Very due an Xbox restock soon?

Very is fairly consistent when it comes to Xbox series X restocks. But this is usually a case of just one restock per month, and the most recent was on 9 November. Prior to that, we saw series X stock land at Very on 19 October, 14 September, 24 August and 20 July. So, unless the retailer has a plan to stock extra consoles ahead of Black Friday, we’re not holding our breath for another Xbox restock until December.

When did Game last have Xbox stock?

Game has already had a couple of series X restocks this month. These came on 3 and 10 November, and follow three console restocks in October, two in September and no fewer than six in August. We’re hoping Game will soon get back up to the restock levels we saw in the summer, especially with Black Friday just around the corner.

It’s unlikely that Game (or any retailer) will lower the price of the Xbox series X for Black Friday, but we’re hoping to see extra stock around 26 November.

Best TV Black Friday 2021 deals

Black Friday is synonymous with heavily discounted televisions. While the sight of shoppers brawling over a cheap Sony Bravia is thankfully a thing of the past, the very best Black Friday TV deals are still highly sought-after online.

Earlier in November, AO, Currys and Studio all kicked off their Black Friday celebrations early, heavily discounting some of their bestselling TVs by up to £500. Before Black Friday officially begins on 26 November, we’ve already found some eye-catching offers, which we’ve compiled in our guide to the best TV Black Friday deals.

Can you buy an Xbox on the high street?

Yes, but consoles are currently as tricky to find in stores as they are online. Your best bet is to try your local branches of Game and Smyths Toys, as these both sometimes have consoles on their shelves. But these in-store restocks are often very small and sell out quickly, usually within hours.

Game stores each have aTwitter account, which they use to promote the arrival of Xbox stock. This Twitter list is a great way to keep an eye on all Game store Twitter accounts. Meanwhile, the Smyths website has a tool for checking on console stock levels at all of its UK stores.

When did Amazon last have Xbox stock?

We’re hoping to see an Xbox series X restock at Amazon soon – and it really is quite overdue now. The retail giant hasn’t had any consoles in stock for ages now, with the most recent restocks appearing on 9 and 20 September. We didn’t see any Xbox series X stock at Amazon UK for the whole of October.

But with Black Friday and the holiday season just around the corner, we’re hoping to see more consoles arrive soon.
